CVS Health Charity Classic June 24 at Rhode Island Country Club

WOONSOCKET, Rhode Island – With some of the biggest names in golf slated to appear at Rhode Island Country Club, the CVS Health Charity Classic returns June 24 as one of the largest charitable events in Rhode Island. The one-day professional tournament will feature six teams, each comprised of one player from the PGA, LPGA and Champions Tour.

The complete list of teams for the 2019 CVS Health Charity Classic is as follows:

Fans will enjoy a world-class field of competitors at this year’s event, including six-time LPGA winner So Yeon Ryu, three-time PGA TOUR Champions winner Rocco Mediate and Rolex No. 4 Lexi Thompson. Kevin Kisner is also set to return to the Charity Classic after his win at WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play in March.

Other fan favorites include Hall of Famers Colin Montgomerie and Mark O’Meara and ten-time LPGA Tour winner Paula Creamer. PGA TOUR players Sam Saunders and Keith Mitchell are also set to compete at Rhode Island Country Club. This year marks Mitchell’s first CVS Health Charity Classic appearance.

In addition to the professional golf tournament on Monday, June 24, fans can enjoy:

· Crave RI – Kicking off the 2019 event series, this two-day, family-friendly culinary celebration featuring Rhode Island’s finest will include 100 restaurants and more than 150 beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverage profiles. The food festival will return to the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in the heart of Providence on June 20 and 21. Enjoy sample tastings from: Red Fin Crudo + Kitchen, Anchor Toffee, Hometown Café & Poke Bar, Newport Vineyards and many more. All proceeds from the event will support charitable organizations across Southern New England.

· Pepsi Celebrity Pro-Am – The Charity Classic has once again partnered with New England sports teams to bring celebrity athletes to the Charity Classic. The Bruins, Celtics, Patriots and Red Sox will all be represented at the Pepsi Celebrity Pro-Am on Sunday, June 23 at Rhode Island Country Club. You can expect to see Rob Ninkovich from the New England Patriots and Derek Lowe of the Boston Red Sox. Admission to this event is free.

Since its inception in 1999, the Charity Classic has donated more than $22 million for Southern New England nonprofit organizations that provide vital funding to a range of programs serving children and families.
